Description:

The silicone insulating bushing boot is a moulded part, used in switchgear and transformer cable boxes where the air clearances are insufficient for normal operation, to protect against flashover due to rodents or extreme humidity. It is also installed between the cable lug and the bushing to prevent the metal parts, such as terminals, from being oxidized and corroded.
